Huge congratulations going out to our home town 15U AAA Bantam team this past weekend winning the BC Minor Baseball provincial title in our home town. These kids are so amazing on and off the field.  It’s been a privilege to watch this team win the title. Their hard work and effort truly showed and paid off. Credit also goes to an amazing coaching staff and team manager that guided this team’s success over the past year.

Provincial Final 4 Tournament Summary:

Game 1 vs Ridge Meadows Royals
In the second inning Logan booth hits a solo home run to start the scoring. From there, the Cougars scored six more runs to win 7-0. The team had 11 hits for the game. Matt Chater pitched 6-2/3 stellar innings allowing 4 hits & 0 runs and had 6 strike outs. Kailyn Guenther got the final out on the mound.

Game 2 vs North Island Cubs
Logan Booth started on the mound. Booth also hit a 2-run home run in the third inning to give the Cougars the lead. Booth batted in 5 of the 6 runs for the Cougars for the win. Final score 6-3. Booth also threw 4 innings allowing 2 runs and had 8 strike outs. Carter Bestebroer came in relief for 2 innings. Ian Vandepol closed the game in the final inning striking out the side.

Game 3 vs West Coast Wolves
Eli Robinson started on the mound. Eli only allowed 3 hits over 7 innings complete, but 2 costly errors in the first inning allowed West Coast to go up 2-0 in the first inning. Evan Maloney had Chilliwack’s only RBI late in the game. As a result, Cougars lost 2-1.

Finals vs. West Coast Wolves
The finals was a rematch between Chilliwack and West Coast.
The only run of the game came from the bat of Eli Robinson when he had a base hit with 2 outs and 2 strikes to drive in Ian Vandepol.

Ian Vandepol pitched in the finals. He threw a complete game shut out, allowing 5 hits and striking out 8.

Neither team committed a error in the game.

Logan Booth earned tournament MVP honours leading the tournament in home runs (2), RBIs (6) and runs scored (4) to go along with 1 win in the mound.

This is Chilliwack’s first ever 15U AAA Provincial title. This weekend, the team travels to Surrey to compete in the  Baseball BC 15U National qualifiers. Go Cougars!
