Additional Information:

Roberto Alomar

Roberto Alomar is an American baseball player best known as one of the best second basemen in Major League Baseball. He was born in Salinas, Puerto Rico and started his MLB career in 1988 with the San Diego Padres. In 1991, he was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays, where he thrived as a hitter and second baseman. While there, he earned what would be his first of 10 American League Gold Glove Awards throughout his career. Alomar moved to the Baltimore Orioles in 1996 and played for the Cleveland Indians, New York Mets and Tampa Bay Devil Rays before retiring in 2005.

In 2011 he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Robbie founded Alomar Sports, a full-service sports marketing agency based out of Toronto, Ontario, whose mission is to provide amazing and memorable experiences for clients.

He also created T12 in Toronto and PR12 in Puerto Rico which gives young players an opportunity to compete and showcase their talents. A strong supporter of Challenger Baseball and his home town of Ponce, PR, Robbie supports and organizes many fund-raising events to raise money for these various causes.

Most recently Robbie has a new book out, Roberto Alomar, A Special Player. Auto-graphed copies will be on sale at the event for only $35.00! A portion of proceeds will go to support the UFV program.

Rob Fai

Rob Fai has been the voice of Vancouver Canadians baseball for the past 13 sea-sons on both radio and television and has given baseball at professional and amateur levels his unwavering commitment. As Director of Communications & Broadcast with Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club & host of The Commute, a daily sports radio broadcast heard across the province, Rob continues to entertain the local sports community. He is one of the longest serving voices in EA Sports history, voicing the award-winning National Hockey League (NHL) platforms for both Xbox and Playstation.

Inducted into the Vancouver Canadians Hall of Fame, and recipient of the Baseball BC Meritorius Award for his lifetime commitment to the game, Rob most recently received the coveted Paul Carson Award as best play-by-play broadcaster in British Columbia.

Purpose

As with any start up baseball program, the needs are great. We want our boys to be proud of the team for which they play and look forward to raising funds for such things jerseys, helmets, training equipment, and other necessary team gear.

In addition, our team will be heading to Tucson, Arizona in March, 2019 and our players have a minimum amount they must fundraise to be able to go. This is always a great trip not only for team building but also the opportunity to play good competition.

The funds raised at this event will be designated for these things.
